Rating: 3Summary: A good first try
For the most part of Ectaco JetBook works OK on paper, but once you use it it in a day to day basis as I do, then begins to show its weaknesses. Here are the main weaknesses, in no particular order:
1. No serif font for text files. To truly emulate the experience of reading a printed book, I feel every eBook Reader should offer a serif font like Georgia or Palatino. I have a modest printed book library and most are from the classics printed in a serif font. I read books used in serif font - it just feels "warmer" as Arial or Verdana to me (you can only choose between Arial or Verdana in JetBook). A sans serif font such as Arial or Verdana is OK for technical documents, but not classic literature IMHO.
3. The word lookup is experience even worse, every time when we choose a word that you have, once again with the English dictionary. Maybe I did something wrong, but my dictionary selection setting is not saved across sessions. This contributes to many buttons to see a word if you read in the JetBook. You might as well wear an electronic dictionary to your word lookups do.
5. The JetBook has a nice screen with good contrast and clarity, which I found more easily than other ebook readers on the basis of e-ink technology (eg Astak EZReader) when I read the two side by side. However, there is a noticeable .5 - to 1-second delay when I leaf, especially in large books, and when panning in PDF documents. Many people have praised the JetBook's LCD display latency, that he was an E Ink screen, compared, and it would be right, but the page turns and PDF panning are still a bit too slow for me. Am I expecting too much when I turned in the vicinity of the current page? I want to be able to hold the next / previous page buttons, and who turn the pages as fast as I could flip through a physical book.
If the five questions above are not a bother for you, then you can have fun with the JetBook. My JetBook is now back at Frys, or in the hands of someone who I hope there is more excited than me. Just because I back it does not mean it should be like the plague - it was not simply do not meet my needs, all this can be avoided. All in all, the JetBook a good first attempt from ECTACO, an authority on the translator, and it is slowly improving, as they firmwares for updated version. The JetBook is definitely a decent eBook reader for the price, but remember that you can also get a Kindle1 for about the same price on eBay. If you want to save money and time do not mind lugging around something stronger, which are expensive ebook reader on the market, the CER-1150's. You can be the update that one would use eBookwise-1150 ebooks by updating the firmware, which allows the reader with Fictionwise.
Happy e-reading!

Rating: 5Summary: Easy to use ereader
The device takes a 2G SD card and internal memory for themselves. It comes with many fine classic pound is already installed, including the choice of pre-installed with a King James Bible. It has downloaded a drag and drop technology for putting the pounds on the card or reader, or you can do it by copying.
Spoken word is not accepted, the device, mobility, and some other popular formats, but a beta firmware upgrade on the site are available. I have not done so, I'll wait for me on the final version. I have read many books in the meantime!
The Ectaco site is running a special right, as I now require that the reader has a decent carry bag, USB cable, adapter, CD, user manual, ear and shipping costs. (It plays MP3's, which I have not done, but it is available) It is not as expensive as the other major eReaders. It feels very sturdy and substantial in your hand, I expect them to hold even under normal conditions.
I am pleased and excited about this ereader for the modernization fhe firmware. The company responded promptly and courteously assisted all of my pre-purchase of e-mails and seem very much. I do not think you can go wrong with this one!

Rating: 1Summary: Forget'bout'it
I bought the thing for my girlfriend about a year ago, and if it works technically what I would not recommend for everyone, for a number of reasons:
- The only type of file it can read TXT, which everything is read, there are also converted. She claims to read Acrobat files, but it provides the entire text as an image, so you do not easily scroll up and down, making them unusable.
- A lot of memory issues, which would both with the onboard memory and SD card, I copy a file and it will not be connected to the device, another file that I delete, and for 2 months, it was to say that there
- Absent SUPPORT - the company that this thing is Russian or something does, and you can forget to return them to answer your e-mail or the phone
- MP3 player is useless to work very slowly and disturbances in the audio (beeps and gaps)
- Do not even think about images they see on this terrible monochrome display

Rating: 4Summary: Good for plain text
I bought it in June 2008.
The good: It is very small, so that you would take if only the smallest printed book would go. Stylish. Text-only works very well.
The bad: It's not e-Ink technology, so that it uses up the battery in a few days of active reading. No Use for advanced text support (with the exception of PDF, the most useless on a small screen anyway).
Conclusion: a nice companion you can take out anywhere, as long as you comfortable with simple, text-only restriction.

Rating: 4Summary: Good product
Although I am not all features on this thing, I'm incredibly with the ability to try to like reading books. I can well place all my books in the files that are listed. In fact, I had a spare SD card, in which I at the books and opened the files on the eBook Reader. Turning on the machine is made by one or two seconds, but for the price, this is not too long. This in turn has to move quickly if a book to read but in a way that is positive. The eBook will not automatically use long after 5 minutes. (You can change the amount of time.) Can go many hours before stress. Relatively small quality indeed. You can use the eBook, when plugged in
The three negatives that I really care about this eBook is the fact that if you do not save your PDF files with a larger font, it comes in very small writing on the ebook. You can change the size of the page where the ebook, but I hate moving the pages to the left and right when I read the sentence. The other negative is not about the eBook, but if I have purchased the product. I had gone across the screen with the red eBook Reader. However, they sent instead of a black one. Not a huge problem I thought I had nothing to say, the company or anything else, really like the color red. The last point, it is not a backlight, the reading in the darkness without a book light.
In any case, definitive opinion. Good purchase all things considered. In addition to the questions that I still use e-Book reader and I will not make it back so fast! Had I think this is always somebody else? Absolutely!

Rating: 5Summary: Great device, Great price. Great satisfaction.
I used to JetBook Lite. As big as the one I was immediately exchanged with the "normal" issue, because the bulk battery was quite angry when I think JBL in my messenger bag with my books and laptop, which is necessary. Now that I have the thin JetBook, I could not be happier.
JetBook is a great eBook reader. Why?
Low prices - $ 180 is a high price for a 5 "compact reader.
LCD screen - instead of the conventional E-ink screens, they use reflective LCD screens. This allows the device to change the pages in a fraction of a second (near instantaneous), and it is not 'flash' like the traditional e-ink devices. That means you'll never be more staring at Etch-a-Sketch device is deleted.
MP3 player - you can listen to music in the background, wearing headphones.
SD-Card - more storage! yay! Supports up to 32GB, they say.
Several readable formats - ePub, Mobi, PRC, RTF,. Txt,. Pdf,. Fb2. Jpg,. Gif,. Png and. Bmp. JetBook a problem of not able to DRM-protected content has to read, but he now is Barnes & Noble-protected content. And above all, it would read. PRC files, so you can use Mobipocket Reader to read the format of the files that you have to convert, and transfer them to the device.
Durability - I had this baby a few times on the concrete floor (6 or 7), and there are still large workgroups. I'm 6'1 ". Although, I suggest you try that ...
JetBook has errors.
Dark screen - Screen Various other means shade the background color. It is a little darker than e-ink devices. It is light green-ish brown. The contrast is very nice. Dark background, but texts are engraved. I think this is not a 'flaw', but rather a difference in preference.
The lack of wireless functionality - you can not download pound on your device over 3G or Wi-Fi. Only then can the books on your device via USB cable or SD card. There are no special bookshop.
And ... I can no more errors, honestly.
Total JetBook was a great buy for me. I bought it immediately after trying out at CES 2010th
After viewing all the eBook reader at the show, and I found JetBook impressive. The way screen changes almost immediately without having to flash the main reason was why I bought it.
Hope my review helped you on your decision for an eBook reader.

Rating: 5Summary: Great e-reader for multiple formats
I have received from the manufacturer's website for 3 weeks with - and love it. It displays pounds in multiple formats and languages. Previously, it was not secured decoding formats, but support for this is to upgrade will be available soon to solve this problem (and I expect it to actually happen, because a recent amendment with removable batteries - Ectaco JetBook JetBook Lite Lite Electronic eBook Reader already supports the e-books purchased from B & N).
In the meantime, I have read it everywhere with me and having books - for hours every day - and it makes my eyes tired.
Pros: Right size, low weight, good construction, design and convenient placement of keys, padded envelope contained, user friendly, multiple formats, languages - including Russian, expandable memory (SD card up to 2GB), adjustable font size, landscape mode available when necessary, easy on the eyes, the bookmarks automatically into the files and allows your own bookmarks, area ...
Cons: Nothing major. Only a few suggestions. For example, bookmarks for each file are specific and there is no general bookmark list, the convenient shorthand way to regain power, and in multiple files / would pound. I can not think of anything else.
I've already bought two more as gifts for my mother and a friend.
